The Hungarian publication Nemzetisport celebrated Sepsi OSK's performance, noting that they returned to the Romanian top flight with a 1-1 draw against Chindia Târgoviște. "Sepsi is back in the Romanian top league after just one season in Liga II," they highlighted.
Sepsi OSK, supported by Laszlo Dioszegi, secured a direct promotion to the Romanian Superliga after finishing the season in Liga II. The decisive match of the playoffs saw Sepsi OSK draw 1-1 with Chindia Târgoviște, which was enough for Sepsi to return to the top tier of Romanian football.
In the match, Nacho Heras opened the scoring for Sepsi in the 56th minute, and Konstantinos Doumtsios equalized for Chindia in the 77th minute. This result ensured that both Sepsi and Csikszereda, the two Hungarian-supported teams, will be playing in the Romanian top division next season.
Nemzetisport also provided additional commentary: "It’s over! Sepsi is back in the first tier! The score remained 1-1, and Sepsi returned to the top league after a year. The two Hungarian-supported teams will be in the Romanian top division."
This is huge for the Hungarian-supported clubs in Romania! It's great to see Sepsi back in the Superliga where they belong. Will this success inspire more foreign investments in Romanian football? Let's hope so!
