Tyson Fury has announced his return to the ring this summer with a preparatory fight ahead of the long-awaited bout against Anthony Joshua, set to take place in either October or November at Wembley. While Joshua will face Christian Hammer in Saudi Arabia on July 25, Fury is organizing his own fight to prepare.

Fury's Three-Fight Plan

Fury has confirmed that he plans to have three fights this year. After defeating Arslanbek Makhmudov in April in his fifth return from retirement, Fury is now targeting a fight in August. "My plan for this year is three fights. April, August, and then the big fight whenever it is announced — October or November," Fury stated.

"We don't have an opponent yet, but it doesn't really matter who it is. It's just preparation for the big fight. The opponent could be a nobody or Mike Tyson, it's all the same to me. It's just a warm-up, and I need to go fight by fight, with each one being life or death."

Promoter: No Rest for Fury

Fury's promoter, Frank Warren, confirmed the plans. "He will fight before the Joshua fight. He wants to fight, and he doesn't want to sit idle for seven or eight months until November. He wants to stay active and not get rusty."

All Focus on the Joshua Fight

The question remains as to who Fury might face in August. It is likely that the opponent will be relatively unknown, similar to Joshua's choice of Christian Hammer. The priority for all involved is to ensure that the highly anticipated British super-fight between Fury and Joshua takes place. Talks about this fight have been ongoing for years, with a contract signed back in 2021.
