The recent buzz around the UFC coming to Belgrade has finally materialized, with the world's top MMA promotion confirmed to take place at Belgrade Arena 1 on August 1.
Speculations have been swirling about which regional fighters might make their appearance on the world’s biggest stage alongside regulars such as Aleksandar Rakic, Uros Medijic, Dusko Todorovic, and others. Now, we have official confirmation!
According to unofficial information obtained by our portal, two Serbian fighters have officially signed with the UFC: the promising heavyweight Jovan Leka (13-2) and the experienced Slovaco-Serbian fighter Vlasto Čepo (14-3).
Both fighters will make their debut at the upcoming Fight Night event at Belgrade Arena, with their opponents already known.
Čepo will face the name already familiar to the local audience, Gilbert Urbine (7-4), whom Uros Medijic recently knocked out in his last UFC appearance.
On the other hand, Leka will face the Brazilian heavyweight Max Jimenez (6-2) in his UFC debut.
This comes as no surprise, given the speculation that Čepo and Leka would likely be part of the upcoming event at Belgrade Arena.
It will be very interesting, and we are eagerly awaiting the announcement of more Serbian fighters set to appear at the UFC event.
