“Our Goal in Tourism is to Make the Sector Resilient to Crises”
The region is beautiful, and crises have always been a part of history. In 2018, when we changed our tourism strategy, our primary goal was to make our sector resilient to crises. Therefore, in 2019, we established the TGA to ensure stable and intensive promotion. This led to diversification of products, expanding from the traditional offerings of sea, sand, and sun to a wide range of 120-month excavation programs and the Heritage for the Future project, showcasing Turkey's unparalleled cultural heritage.
“We Placed Gastronomy at the Center of Our Tourism Strategy”
Previously, gastronomy was seen as a supplementary component of tourism, but it is now a central element of our strategy. With TGA and strategic partners like Turkish Airlines, we are enhancing global accessibility by providing direct flights to 350 destinations. The new strategy also diversifies resources and destinations. Every place Turkish Airlines flies to is a potential target destination for us.
“Turkey, a Resilient and ‘Island of Stability’ Promoting Tourism in Almost 200 Countries”
Previously, we attracted visitors from six or seven markets. Today, we are heavily promoting tourism in almost 200 countries, drawing visitors from every corner of the world. Our resilience to crises has increased, and the peaceful foreign policy under our esteemed President has effectively maintained Turkey's position as an ‘Island of Stability.’
This is a fantastic step forward for Turkish tourism! Placing gastronomy at the heart of their strategy could be a game changer. But let's see if they can keep up with the competition. Can Turkey maintain its "island of stability" in a volatile region? Only time will tell.
