Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu concluded the 2023-2024 Süper Lig season as a joint top scorer with 22 goals, sharing the golden boot with Eldor Shomurodov of RAMS Başakşehir. Onuachu became the sixth player to earn this distinction in Trabzonspor’s history, following in the footsteps of Necmi Perekli, Fatih Tekke, Şota Arveladze, Burak Yılmaz, and Alexander Sörloth. He is also the third foreigner to achieve this accolade for the club.

Onuachu’s 22 goals accounted for 36% of Trabzonspor’s total 61 goals scored in the league this season. He scored his first goal of the season in the opening match against Kocaelispor, leading the team to a 1-0 victory. Throughout the season, he contributed crucial goals in key matches against Fatih Karagümrük, Kayserispor, Çaykur Rizespor, Alanyaspor, Başakşehir, and Konyaspor.

In one of the most memorable moments of his season, Onuachu scored in the 28th week match against Galatasaray, securing a 2-1 victory for Trabzonspor. Despite going six weeks without scoring, he still managed to clinch the golden boot.

Onuachu’s performance was also notable in derby matches, where he scored against both Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, further cementing his status as one of the standout players of the season.

Despite facing a dip in form towards the end of the season, Onuachu’s goal-scoring prowess was instrumental in Trabzonspor’s overall success. His contributions helped the team secure a significant portion of their points, making him an indispensable asset to the squad.
