Ukrainian Elina Svitolina secured her third Rome Open title by defeating American Coco Gauff in the women's singles final. The match, held on clay courts at the Foro Italico complex in Rome, saw Svitolina emerge victorious with a 2-1 set scoreline.

Svitolina, seeded seventh, faced third-seeded Gauff in a closely contested final. The match lasted 2 hours and 49 minutes, with Svitolina taking the first set 6-4 despite trailing 2-4 at one point.

The second set saw the momentum shift, with Gauff winning 7-6 (3) in a tiebreaker, pushing the match to a deciding set. Svitolina regained her composure and won the third set 6-2, sealing the victory and her third Rome Open championship.

This triumph marks Svitolina's return to the top in Rome, where she previously won in 2017 and 2018. Gauff, who reached the final last year, put up a strong challenge but ultimately fell short.

On Sunday, the men's singles final will feature world No. 1 Jannik Sinner against 23rd-seeded Casper Ruud.
