Former President of the Croatian Football Federation, Davor Šuker, was spotted at the match between Rudeš and Cibalia in Zagreb on Friday. The visitors from Vinkovci won 3-2, complicating the situation in the second tier of Croatian football. Šuker, as a guest, also presented a trophy to Rudeš's youth team.

"Among the stands at our game, one of the greatest legends of Croatian football, Davor Šuker, was present. As a FIFA ambassador, he presented a medal to our young cadets before the match of the first youth team. Our youngest players did not miss the opportunity for a photo! Their expressions spoke volumes about the significance of his presence and the impact of his name on football. It is great to see that the new generation recognizes him and how much his presence brings them good luck," the club announced on social media.

Potential Return to Osijek?

There are indications that Šuker could return to Croatian football in the role of an advisor to the board of NK Osijek. Osijek is the club where Šuker began his career and laid the foundation for his illustrious career, one of the most significant in the history of Croatian football. The best-ever goalscorer for the Croatian national team, Šuker was the President of the Croatian Football Federation from 2012 to 2021. Since then, he has not held any position in any club, the national team, or the federation.
