Stuttgart Returns to Champions League, Eintracht Frankfurt Misses Out

Stuttgart clinched a spot in the Champions League after finishing fourth in the Bundesliga, securing the final qualifying position. In a crucial final-round match, the team led by Sebastian Hoeneß drew 2-2 against Eintracht Frankfurt as visitors, which was enough to edge out Hoffenheim and Bayer Leverkusen, who had theoretical chances for the coveted fourth spot.

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and RB Leipzig are the other guaranteed representatives from Germany in the Champions League. If Freiburg wins the Europa League final, they will join the German contingent. Eintracht Frankfurt, which competed in the Champions League this season, failed to qualify for any European competition this year.

Stuttgart took a two-goal lead before halftime in Frankfurt, with first-half goals from Chema Andrés and Nicolas Nartey in extra time. However, after the break, the Swabians allowed Eintracht Frankfurt to score twice and settle for the draw.
