South Korean Chang Van Seo emerged victorious at the World Modern Pentathlon Championships held in Pazardzhik, triumphing over Czech competitor Matej Lučkač in the final stages. In the women's category, Turkish Liqay Ozuyk claimed the top spot. The men's competition was particularly thrilling, with no Bulgarian participation after Todor Mihalev secured the 14th position in the semi-finals on Saturday. In the final race, there were multiple changes in the lead, with Van Seo ultimately surpassing Lučkač by a second to clinch first place.
Matis Rocheat completed the podium with third place, followed by Yang Ma (China), Mohamed El Ashkar (Egypt), and Giorgio Malan (Italy) in the top six. The awards ceremony was attended by UIPM President Rob Stuwl, Bulgarian Modern Pentathlon Federation (BFMP) President Andrei Kuzmanov, Mayor of Pazardzhik Municipality Petar Kuleshki, UIPM General Secretary Shani Fang, and BFMP Executive Director Kamelia Aleksandrova.
In the women's category, Liqay Ozuyk claimed the gold medal, followed by Blanka Guzi (Hungary) and Ghana Elgindi (Egypt). The top six positions were also occupied by Kerensa Bryson (United Kingdom), neutral athlete Anastasia Malashenko, and Louise Kazali (France).
