Sofia is welcoming Eurovision 2026 winner Dara with a 60-meter red carpet. "The red carpet is essential to properly celebrate her achievement with a much broader audience," said Sofia Mayor Vasile Terziev. The city has organized a festive program that will turn the city center into a stage for music, energy, and shared pride. The event is organized by the City Municipality and Bulgarian National Television and will attract thousands of residents and guests.
Mayor Terziev emphasized that such moments are not only celebrations but also a tribute to talent and effort. He stated that the city aims to respond quickly and appropriately to significant cultural events and turn them into a shared experience. "It's challenging, but we strive to raise the bar and respond quickly to such events," he noted.
He defined the organization as part of a larger vision for Sofia as a confident European city capable of hosting world-class events. In this context, he commented with optimism on the possibility of hosting Eurovision 2027: "Not only will Sofia be ready, but she will do an excellent job."
Terziev added that key elements of the preparation are already being discussed, from the host venue to logistics for delegations and journalists as part of the city’s overall readiness.
In conclusion, he sent a message about greater unity around cultural successes and stronger support for artists throughout their journey, not just at moments of triumph but also during their development. "I believe that as a nation, we can achieve things we don't even suspect if we unite, work together, and look long-term. So I hope we do this more often, and these successes motivate us to be better, more ambitious, and understand that together we can achieve wonders," Terziev commented.
