Janik Sinner celebrated his victory in the Rome Masters final against Norwegian tennis player Kasper Ruud with a score of 6-4, 6-4. Unlike last year when he was narrowly defeated, Sinner finally secured the trophy this time around. Sinner became the first Italian to win in Rome since Adriano Panatta claimed the title in 1976.
Ruud came close to breaking Sinner’s serve in the second game of the second set, but Sinner immediately responded, leading to a crucial advantage in the first set. Sinner broke Ruud’s serve in the ninth game, securing a key position. Sinner opened the second set with a break in the first game and maintained his lead until the end.
Sinner recorded his 34th consecutive victory in Masters tournaments, becoming the second player in history to win titles at all nine Masters events. Only Serbian player Novak Djokovic has previously achieved this feat. Sinner now holds 10 Masters titles in his career, with six being consecutive, all won in Rome.
