Serbian taekwondo athletes made a strong impact at the European Championships, with Stefan Takov winning gold, Andrea Bokan taking silver, and Aleksandra Perišić securing bronze. Takov, an Olympic athlete, dominated the competition, defeating Bulgarian Stamenov, Polish Cudnoh, Croatian Golubić, and Georgian Kinkurashvili in the final. Each match was won with a decisive 2:0 score. "These were four extremely tough matches," Takov noted upon his return from Germany. "Especially against Croatian Golubić, whom I lost to in the final of the World Championships in 2023, and Georgian Kinkurashvili, who had beaten me in the last three encounters. However, everything came together for me to win the gold this time." Takov emphasized that the last ten days felt like a dream, given that he had just graduated from the Faculty of Sports at the Union-Nikola Tesla University in Belgrade, where he studied the Trainer in Sports program. "This is a very significant achievement in my life," he stated. "Despite my sporting commitments, I managed to be nearly regular at lectures. The Faculty of Sports fully met all my expectations, as I gained knowledge that I believe will be immensely useful after my competitive career."
