Darko Đukić, a member of the Serbian handball team, emphasized the importance of their upcoming qualifier matches against Hungary for securing a spot in the World Championship. The match is set to take place at the Čair Arena in Niš, where the atmosphere is expected to be highly charged.

Serbia faces Hungary in the first qualifier match on Thursday at 18:00, with the return leg scheduled for Sunday at 17:30 in Veszprém. The winner of this two-match series will secure a spot in the World Championship, which will take place in Germany from January 13 to 31, 2027.

- It will be a special day for me, emotional, as I play in my hometown, in front of my fellow citizens. I can barely wait for the match. Niš has never let us down, and I am sure it won't tomorrow either. I know the interest in the game is exceptionally high, and tickets are being sought after, so I am confident the atmosphere in the arena will be electric. The fact that 'the fans' know how to perform is something truly amazing. I believe the team has had the best support from my city for decades. - Đukić said, as reported by the Serbian Handball Federation’s website.

Đukić is well aware of the significance of the two-match series against Hungary.

- It's unnecessary to emphasize how important these matches are and why we must secure a spot in the World Championship. We missed the last planet championship, and we can't afford to do that again, especially since this is the qualifying cycle for the Olympics. - Đukić added.

The Serbian representative also stressed the need for their team to play calmly, organized, and patiently, avoiding rushing and quick attacks.

- The Hungarians have a truly remarkable team, a collection of excellent individuals, especially their pivot players, who are among the best in the world. They are very tough, big, and will be a challenge to play against, as they are aware of their strength and capabilities. We must be flawless in defense and shut down all their ideas. I believe we are tactically well-prepared and ready to face the match. - Đukić concluded.
