Bojidar Sarabyukov secured second place in the long jump event at the Diamond League in Shanghai. He recorded a leap of 8.07 meters on his second attempt, while he fouled or did not even step on the board in his other attempts.
The victory went to Italian Matteo Furiani, who achieved a personal best of 8.43 meters. Third place was taken by Uzbek Anvar Anvarov, who recorded a jump of 8.01 meters, just a centimeter ahead of Australian Liam Atkok.
Fifth place was achieved by the home representative, Minkun Jan, with a leap of 7.94 meters. Jamaicans Tajay Gale and Wayne Pink took sixth and seventh places, respectively, just a centimeter behind Jan. American Jeremey Davis recorded 7.92 meters for eighth place. Peruvian Jose Mandros finished in ninth place, while the second Chinese competitor, Yuhaoc Shu, fouled three times in a row and did not record a result.
Sarabyukov is showing incredible consistency, but how can he close the gap to Furiani? This competition is heating up, and I can't wait to see what happens next!
