Rumen Kirov, driving a Subaru Impreza in class NS1, secured the first round of the "Tsarevo 2026" alpine championship, which debuted this year in the AFB calendar. Kirov was the fastest in two of the three legs, while the third leg was on a wet and drying track, where Hristiyon Hristov (Opel Corsa, NS3) recorded the best time, edging Kirov by one hundredth of a second.
The top three in the overall standings were completed by Georgi Tsonev (Honda Civic, NS4) and Nedialko Denev (Honda Civic, NS3). Hristiyon Hristov finished fifth, overtaken by Stefan Georgiev (Audi A4, NS2).
Kirov won in class NS1, Tsonev in NS4, Denev in NS3, and Georgiev in NS2. A total of 22 pilots were ranked at the end of the competition. The championship event was captured by photographer Denitsa Pavlova.
I can't believe Kirov took the win on that wet track! It's just another reminder of his incredible skill and experience. What's next for the "Tsarevo 2026" championship?
