A New Season of Royal History

The Karađorđević family, in collaboration with the Belgrade Tourist Organization, has officially launched another season of guided tours for the Royal Court Complex on Dedinje Hill. The first visitors of the season were traditionally members of the press, who accompanied professional guides from the Royal Court to explore the rich history and enduring traditions of this historic estate.

Standard tours last approximately one and a half hours, covering the Royal Palace, the White Palace, the Chapel of Saint Andrew the First-Called, and the surrounding Royal Park. Visitors are frequently greeted by members of the Karađorđević family during these excursions.

Preserving Heritage for Future Generations

Prince Alexander Karađorđević emphasized that maintaining a connection with the Serbian people has always been vital to the dynasty, even during periods of exile. He explained that this bond is the primary reason the family eagerly opens their home to well-intentioned visitors each year.

"It is one of the reasons why we are so happy to open the doors of our home to all people of good will who wish to learn more about the history and traditions of our homeland, the people of Serbia, and our family as an inseparable part of it," Alexander Karađorđević stated.

He stressed the importance of passing the legacy of the complex to younger generations and foreign friends alike. "We want everyone to see how great a historical treasure the Royal Court Complex is, and that Serbia and our people can be proud of it. We are happy to host you in our home," he added.

Three Generations Under One Roof

Prince Philip Karađorđević noted that the complex serves as both historical heritage and a family residence. He recounted that his great-grandfather, King Alexander I, built the complex. His grandfather, King Peter II, lived there, followed by his father, Crown Prince Alexander. Today, Prince Philip and his family reside there as well.

"For the first time in the history of our dynasty, three generations of Karađorđevićs are living in this place: father, son, and grandson," Prince Philip remarked. He highlighted that they all share the same desire for the complex to remain open to all citizens, calling it a duty to their ancestors and a present responsibility.

Booking and Visit Details

The Belgrade Tourist Organization arranges tours on dates coordinated with the Royal Court office, with departures at 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM. The first available dates for June are Thursday, June 18, and Saturday, June 27.

Tickets purchased through the Belgrade Tourist Organization include organized bus transport from the designated stop at Nikola Pašić Square, in front of the City Assembly of Belgrade, to the Royal Complex. The ticket price is 2,000 dinars, with group sizes limited to a maximum of 30 visitors.

Schools, students, and pensioner associations can arrange group visits on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. These groups must notify the Office of Alexander Karađorđević at least seven to ten days in advance.
