Universitatea Craiova’s president, Mihai Rotaru, has addressed the possibility of key players such as Baiaram, Anzor, Romanchuk, and Nsimba leaving the club this summer. Despite offers from other clubs, Rotaru is confident he can convince these important players to stay for the initial phase of the European adventure.
Rotaru aims to keep his star players to push for a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage, starting from the qualifying rounds due to winning the Superliga title. He reassured supporters that he has a plan to replace any player who leaves in the summer transfer window.
“I believe they will all stay at least for the qualifiers. If someone leaves, we are prepared to replace them,” Rotaru stated. He highlighted the team's strength during the recent AEK Athens match, emphasizing their ability to manage pressure and secure the title.
Meanwhile, Ștefan Baiaram, a key player for Universitatea Craiova, has expressed his desire to leave the club after this season. “I’ve dreamed of this moment since I started playing football. Winning the championship with my heart’s team is a dream come true. I’m excited about our future in Europe, but after seven years, I can’t do more for Universitatea Craiova,” Baiaram told DigiSport after the match against U Cluj.
Mihai Rotaru's bold statements are reassuring, but Baiaram's desire to leave could be a big blow to Craiova's hopes. Can they really keep their star players and still compete in Europe? Let's see how it unfolds!
