Cristiano Ronaldo (41) responded to provocations from Al-Shababa fans who were shouting "Messi!" during a match against Al-Nassra in the Saudi league. Instead of reacting aggressively, the Portuguese footballer turned towards the stands and began waving his hands like a conductor leading an orchestra, a moment that quickly went viral on social media.
The match ended with Al-Nassra winning 4-2, with Ronaldo scoring one of the goals. His team currently leads the Saudi league, with a five-point advantage over Al-Hilal with three rounds left in the season.
This is not the first time that Al-Shababa fans have attempted this kind of provocation. In 2024, Ronaldo was suspended and fined for his reaction to similar chants, but this time he chose a more theatrical and less confrontational approach.
Ronaldo joined Al-Nassra in December 2022. In the Saudi club’s shirt, he has scored 100 goals, and his career total now stands at 971 goals. He is also preparing to compete in his sixth World Cup.
The viral moment captures a lighter side of the rivalry between two of the world’s most famous footballers, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, showing how Ronaldo can also respond with humor and grace.
