Speaking on ESPN Brasil’s Resenha da Copa ahead of Brazil’s next clash against Haiti on June 20, the two-time Ballon d’Or winner highlighted his concerns about Rafinha being deployed on the left flank. "Rafinha on the left, when he had an incredible year with FC Barcelona playing on the right? There were things that were impossible to understand, but in the second half, they started to improve," Ronaldo stated, arguing that this tactical choice cost Brazil dearly.

Nerves Over Technique

Ronaldo acknowledged that individual performances were likely stifled by the intense pressure of the first game. "I remain optimistic. I think the tension of it being the first match showed, because it was abnormal to make so many passing errors, especially in the first half. However, the legend found solace in the honesty of the players and manager. "Later, watching Ancelotti’s interview and the players acknowledging this nervousness, I calmed down. It’s normal, right?
