Romanian coach Laurențiu Reghecampf is experiencing his most challenging professional journey with Al-Hilal Omdurman in Sudan. In August 2025, Reghecampf signed a contract to lead the team in a region ravaged by war, a move that initially seemed to bring him to a perilous territory.

Following his official introduction, he left Sudan and established his base in Kigali, Rwanda, where the team played in the top league and the Champions League.
