KK Crvena Zvezda has released a short documentary on their official YouTube channel titled "When Basketball Was Just a Game." This emotional film tells the story of the generation that won the first European club trophy in Serbian basketball history — the 1974 European Cup Winners' Cup.

The documentary is the result of years of work by Crvena Zvezda's creative team, who collected archival material, photographs, and testimonies from 2022 to 2025 to preserve a part of the club's rich history for future generations.

The film takes viewers to Mali Kalemegdan, the place where the golden generation that set the foundations of Yugoslav and Serbian basketball stood. Through authentic stories and precious footage, the spirit of the time when basketball was not just a sport but a significant part of Belgrade's identity is captured.

The documentary evokes memories of legendary players like recently deceased Cvele (Vladimir Cvetković), Kaponja (Dragan Kapičić), and Moka (Zoran Slavnić). It also highlights famous Red Star players and city figures of that era, including Dušan Savić, Dragan Džajić, Stanislav Karasi, and Boban Petrović.

Through the story of basketball, Kalemegdan, and Belgrade of the s'70s, the film depicts what it was like to be a top athlete and a true social star in a unique period.

The team that won the first European club trophy included players who later became members of the Hall of Fame, winners of European, World, and Olympic gold medals.
