Red Star's assistant coach, Nenad Sakić, praised his team for their performance despite the lack of competitive incentive in the 0-0 draw against Radnički in Surdulica.
The match, which was part of the 36th round of the Serbian SuperLiga, saw Red Star fielding a changed lineup due to the absence of head coach Dejan Stanković, who was on personal business. Sakić expressed satisfaction with the team’s effort, even though it didn't result in a victory.
- I want to commend these guys. It was tough to find motivation in a game without competitive significance, but these guys managed to do it. - Sakić said after the match.
- Unfortunately, we didn't manage to win. We had plenty of chances, it's a shame we didn't score a goal. However, I have to take my hat off to these guys who have been burning since January. Today we played with a changed lineup, players who have had fewer minutes this season got a chance, and I especially want to thank them for finding the motivation. We planned to give some of these young players a chance, but it's never pleasant to lose a match. I didn't feel confident enough to bring in players who haven't really trained with us in recent days. We simply decided on Šarić and Anokić, who justified our trust, and I am sure that the players who stayed on the bench will get their chance to play for Red Star. - Sakić added.
The assistant coach also spoke about the upcoming championship duel against OFK Beograd, which will also be an opportunity to celebrate the new double title.
- It's a beautiful opportunity to invite the fans, to come in large numbers to celebrate the double title. It's not easy to win trophies, and Red Star has been winning double titles for years. I think these guys deserve a full Marakana on Friday to celebrate the trophy together. - Sakić concluded.

The performance of these players deserves a standing ovation! But, how can we expect a full Maracana when the club is constantly in turmoil? It's about time the management steps up and provides some stability. What do you think?
