Nikolay Kaufman Wins Half-Marathon in Varna

Nikolay Kaufman secured victory in the 21-kilometer half-marathon at the Varna Marathon, finishing with a time of 1:11:15. In second place was Nikolay Nachev with a time of 1:12:23, followed by Romanian Andrey Marius Craidnic with 1:15:03. The women's half-marathon was won by Teresa van Gemmen with a time of 1:31:47, followed by Zlatina Langerova with 1:35:34 and Swedish runner Marlène Javaid with 1:37:20.

In the 10.5-kilometer race for the 18-44 age group, Chudomir Chernogorov took first place with a time of 34:45 minutes. Miroslav Spasov was second with 34:54, and Attila Rasim was third with 35:19. Among women in this distance, Natalia Kremenska achieved the best time of 39:51, followed by Vladislava Suvandzhieva with 41:20 and Lilyana Atanasova with 43:29.

In the 45-54 age group for women, Tatyana Nenova was first with 45:45 minutes, followed by Mariya Angelova with 48:31 and Tanya Dimitrova with 49:05. Among men in this age group, Italian Iliaan Chakarov took first place with 40:09 minutes, followed by Arno Visers with 42:09 and Hristo Zhelezkov with 42:44 minutes.

In the over-55 age group for men, Vasilie Apretoae triumphed with a time of 42:27 minutes, followed by Todor Takov with 44:12 and Nayko Plachkov with 44:28 minutes. Among women, Rumyana Panovska was first with 47:19 minutes, followed by Zhana Krasteva with 56:58 and Mel Caroll from the United Kingdom with 57:11.

A total of 300 athletes started in the classic marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers, which was the 11th edition of the Varna Marathon. Among the participants, 255 were men and 45 were women.

In the three distances of the race - 10.5 km, 21 km (half-marathon) Asics Run, and 42.195 km, over 2,200 competitors from 44 countries participated. With participants in the mass start of 2 kilometers, the total number of competitors exceeded 3,500.
