Newlyweds led the second stage of the Tour de France in Veliko Tarnovo, crossing the finish line between the Ceremonial Hall and the theater under the arch. They were congratulated by the mayor, Daniel Panov, who joined them for a photograph amid the cheers of the gathered crowd. The newlyweds shared their first kiss as a married couple under the slogan "Gorchovo."
Panov welcomed the thousands of fans and the event organizers in Italian, expressing confidence that hosting such a significant international event would bring glory to Bulgaria. Despite the cold and rainy weather, the atmosphere in the city was festive, with preparations on a high level. Transparencies, large pink flannel banners, and flags adorned the walls of Tsarevets Fortress, even hanging from the Patriarchal Cathedral at the top. The restaurants were full, and foreign languages could be heard everywhere. About 40,000 guests were expected in Tarnovo for the event, including cycling fans from Romania and Turkey.
