Chilly Conditions Hinder Mountain Tourism in Bulgaria
Cold temperatures and snowy conditions are currently hampering mountain tourism in Bulgaria, according to reports from the Mountain Rescue Service of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC).
Temperatures are hovering around 0 degrees Celsius, and even lower in many areas, creating less-than-ideal conditions for visitors. The Alpine zone of the mountains is accessible, but only under winter conditions. The higher parts of the mountains are also experiencing strong winds, making exploration more challenging.
Adding to the adverse conditions, there has been significant snowfall overnight in the higher parts of the Vitosha mountain range, further complicating travel and outdoor activities for tourists and locals alike.
