The first day of the national championship for pioneer-age basketball players concluded in Šapca with all four quarterfinal matches played.
Partizan 1953 faced little resistance from Imperijum Basket from Leskovac, winning 81 to 29 (27:13, 17:3, 20:5, 17:8). Under coach Nikola Dmitrović, the standout players were Dolovac with 19 points, Vukotić with 12, and Bodrožić and Ben Kemais with 10 points each. In the Leskovac team, Spasić scored 14 points, and Petrović had 10.
In the second match, the team from Kragujevac (MBA) narrowly defeated the Srem squad from Sremska Mitrovica 58 to 57 (13:12, 19:4, 12:20, 14:21) with a last-second three-pointer by Radojević. Ilić contributed 14 points, and Stojanović added 11 for the Kragujevac team. For Srem, Mirčeta led with 18 points, and Popović scored 15.
Korać Academy 011 easily advanced to the semifinals with an 80 to 51 victory (21:14, 25:21, 18:8, 16:8) over the home team Duga. Savić scored 26 points, and Lukić added 15 for the team coached by Anđela Kostić. Stanišić led the Šapca team with 26 points, and Milovanović contributed 9.
The final quarterfinal match saw Novi Sad ZKA defeat Beograd Ras 50 to 49 (15:6, 6:9, 16:22, 13:12) in a nail-biting finish. For Novi Sad ZKA, Jovanov and Samardžija were the top scorers with 15 and 11 points respectively. Ras was led by Stojanović with 18 points and Đorđić with 10.
The semifinals and matches for 5th to 8th place will take place on Saturday. The first semifinal match between Partizan and MBA is scheduled for 17:30, followed by the second semifinal between Korać Academy 011 and Novi Sad ZKA at 20:00. For the 5th-place play-off, Imperijum Basket will face Srem at 12:30, and Duga will play against Ras at 15:00.
