Jose Mourinho (63) is set to return to Real Madrid! The news was confirmed by trusted sports insider Fabrizio Romano, who tweeted “Here we go” with a verified badge.

“All terms have been verbally agreed between Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid, awaiting the signing of all documents. The plan is for an initial two-year deal, with Mourinho traveling to Madrid after the match between Real and Bilbao. The Special One is back,” Romano added.

The agreement comes two days after Mourinho, who currently coaches Benfica, stated that he had a 99 percent chance of staying with the club for another season due to his existing contract and an offer for renewal. However, he also mentioned that he would be discussing terms with Real Madrid this week.

Mourinho previously led Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013, being the first coach of Luka Modric in Madrid. He won one La Liga title, the King’s Cup, and the Spanish Super Cup. He is leaving Benfica after a remarkable season without a single loss in the league but finishing third and failing to secure the Champions League qualification. Real Madrid will be changing managers for the third time in a year, following the unsuccessful tenures of Xabi Alonso and Álvaro Arbeloa. The “Kings” have not won a trophy in the last two seasons, and President Florentino Perez is confident that Mourinho will change that.
