Mourinho Inches Closer to Real Madrid Return

Despite the current coach of Benfica, José Mourinho, steadfastly denying any talks with Real Madrid, Spanish media are adamant that he is Florentino Pérez's preferred choice to lead the "Los Blancos."

The Spanish newspaper "Marca" even underscores that it is 99.9% certain that Mourinho will succeed Alvaro Arbeloa as the new coach at "Bernabéu." Madrid's publication adds that it is only a matter of time before the Portuguese returns to Real, where he was a coach between 2010 and 2013. The final step is the release clause in his contract, valued at 3 million euros, which the "Royal Club" plans to pay by May 26. This is corroborated by Italian journalist Nicolò Schira, who clarifies that the specialist has already agreed to sign a three-year contract.
