A shocking tragedy has rocked the world of martial arts, as renowned MMA fighter Medet Ženaliev (31) tragically lost his life while attempting to save children who were drowning in a lake.
Kyrgyzstani fighter Medet Ženaliev was with friends at the popular tourist destination of Lake Issyk-Kul when the devastating incident occurred. A group of four girls found themselves in grave danger due to strong waves, with one of them being pulled into a powerful current.
Ženaliev immediately jumped into the lake with the intention of rescuing the girls. Despite his efforts, the current was too strong, and he soon disappeared beneath the water, unable to save himself. The girls and his companion, however, were rescued.
The incident took place on May 12, and his body was found the following day. However, the news only reached the wider public today, leading many to believe that Ženaliev will be remembered as an eternal hero.
On social media, numerous individuals from the MMA community have paid their respects to the Kyrgyzstani fighter.
