The final celebration at Maksimir before its demolition! Dinamo is offering discounted tickets for the last match, and farewells from several players will add to the emotional atmosphere. Only three days remain until the big celebration of the title holders at Maksimir, likely the last before its demolition, which is planned to start next year. Due to this, and the celebratory atmosphere, Dinamo has decided to offer tickets for the match against Lokomotive (Saturday, 18:45) at affordable prices—5 euros for members and 10 euros for non-members. The venue is almost sold out, with only a few dozen tickets remaining for the upper north section, and the south stand is currently closed. This will be an evening full of emotions at the blue "old lady" from 1912, with farewells from several current and former Dinamo players.
Dominik Livaković (31) is likely to return to Fenerbahçe on loan, while Ismaël Bennacer (28) will return to Milan after a brief stint. Danijel Zagorac (39) is considering staying with Dinamo for the next season, but other players will definitively end long tenures in blue. Among them is the notable Kevin Théophile-Catherine (36), a French player who joined Maksimir in the summer of 2018 and became one of the most reliable defenders. He has played 223 matches in total, with seven this season and six goals and assists each.
The story of Dine Perić (31), once a promising Croatian footballer, is much sadder. After two seasons where he played only one match, Perić’s career was ruined by severe injuries. He played just four minutes in December 2024 against Hajduk. Though he might try his luck with another club, a return to serious play seems very distant.
Former Dinamo captain Domagoj Antolić (35) and Marin Leovac (37), another former international with five appearances, will also say farewell. Antolić played 172 matches for Dinamo from 2008 to 2018, scoring 10 goals and providing 28 assists, while Leovac played 85 matches for Dinamo and has not played a minute this season under Nikica Jelavić.
Among the current players, Ronael Pierre-Gabriel (27), a discovery in Jakirović's tenure, will also leave. After returning from injury and a brief stint in Turkey, his contract will not be renewed. Pierre-Gabriel played just one match this season. With the recent house cleaning by Zvonimir Boban, Dinamo's squad will enter the new season with a refreshed outlook.
This emotional farewell at Maksimir is a bittersweet moment for Dinamo fans. The end of an era, with so many greats leaving the club. Will the new squad be able to carry on the legacy? This is the question on everyone's minds. Let's see if they can rise to the challenge!
