Pančeva's coach Radomir Koković discussed expectations ahead of the SuperLiga match against Novi Pazar, which is scheduled for Sunday at 17:00. The team has already secured a historic place in European competition, but Koković highlighted that the team does not plan to slow down, aiming instead to continue improving their game in preparation for the challenges ahead this summer.
Koković noted that the absence of a results imperative until the end of the season opens up space for certain changes and experimenting with new ideas on the field.
- After the home match against Radnik, where we secured our European spot, the main question for me is how we can improve to better face the challenges ahead this summer. The fact that we have no results imperative and are relieved from that side gives me the opportunity to experiment a bit and try some new things in our game that I haven't had the chance to test in the previous period. This will, of course, also apply to the team starting the match tomorrow. I'll say it again; we have no results imperative, but we certainly have goals we've set for the last two matches, against Novi Pazar and Čukarički at home. These goals will be closely tied to the idea I mentioned at the beginning of the press conference, which is how we can improve until the end of the season to face the summer preparedly, Koković emphasized.
The coach had nothing but praise for the upcoming opponent and the expected atmosphere in Novi Pazar.
- Novi Pazar's team deserves maximum respect. Of course, any team that can defeat Red Star at the Marakana deserves respect. Honestly, I can't wait for tomorrow's match. I hope the stadium will be well-filled and that we will have the chance to enjoy true football atmosphere and measure ourselves against one of the best teams in our league, the coach of Pančeva said.
Despite the fresh impressions from the great success and the European spot, Koković stressed that he and his coaching staff remain fully focused on the end of the season.
- We are trying to remain focused on our work, regardless of the success we have achieved and the lack of competitive imperative until the end of the season. There are still two matches left. My job and that of my coaching staff is to ensure we remain focused above all, and then to transfer this to the players. I have said this before – I did not fall into euphoria when we won, nor into lethargy and depression when we lost matches. Simply, I experience all this as part of the process. We are, once again, perhaps too ripe too early, which represents great satisfaction within the club, and for me personally. However, I am trying not to let this affect the work I do. I experience all this as part of the process and want us to be better after the match with Novi Pazar, Koković concluded.
