Kerem Demirbay Shares Thoughts After Galatasaray Match
Experienced Kasımpaşa player Kerem Demirbay spoke to the press after his team's 1-0 victory over Galatasaray in the final round of Süper Lig.
In the 34th and final round of Süper Lig, Kasımpaşa secured their league status with a 1-0 win against Galatasaray. After the match, Kasımpaşa's seasoned player Kerem Demirbay addressed the press. Demirbay noted the challenges of the season, stating, "It was a very difficult and heavy season. I went to Eyüpspor with great aspirations and signed a four-year contract. I wanted a stable life for my family, children, schools, and friends. I left Galatasaray well, and my respect for them is infinite."
He also reflected on the changing dynamics in Turkish football, saying, "There have been shifts in the football world, with presidents going to prison. I had to change teams. I respect Eyüpspor, and I'm glad they stayed in the league. I came to Kasımpaşa and felt more relaxed. It's a big, well-organized club. We have an incredible facility. I didn't expect it to be this good. There's a similar professionalism to Galatasaray, and I'm very happy."
Demirbay emphasized the importance of securing their league status weeks before the final match, saying, "I'm happy. We did what suited this club, ourselves, and our families. Praise be to Allah. We stayed in the league. We had to secure it a few weeks ago. After that, you just have to stay in the final match. You have to beat the four-time defending champion Galatasaray. Today, I believe we deserved it. Our brothers fought incredibly hard. We are very happy."
He concluded by congratulating his former team, saying, "It was a very important match. Congratulations to the Galatasar, too. We knew it would be a tough game. In such finals, it's not about where the ball is passed or run; it's about desire and faith. It was a heartfelt faith we brought to the field, and thankfully, we won."
I can't believe Demirbay stayed so positive despite the tough season! But seeing Kasımpaşa pull through like this is amazing. How do you think this will impact their future in the Süper Lig?
