Serbian tennis player Miomir Kecmanović secured his place in the quarterfinals of the Valencia Open with a relatively easy 6-3, 6-2 victory over Swiss player Leander Ridi in just 80 minutes.

This tournament in Spain serves as preparation for the upcoming Roland Garros, but it could also help Kecmanović return to the top 50 rankings in the world. Entering the week, he was ranked 70th on the ATP list but has already advanced six places. He has the opportunity to potentially be in the top 50 by the time the French Open begins.

To achieve this, he will need to win the title, which will not be easy given the strong competition. In the quarterfinals, he will face the winner of the match between Mateo Berrettini and Kamila Ugá Karatsev. This tournament, by the names of its participants, can be considered a category 250 level event, with players such as Alejandro Tabilo, Danijel Altmajer, Roberto Bautista Agut, Sebastián Báez, Zizo Bergs, Pablo Carreño Busta, Damir Džumhur, and Jaume Munar also competing.

After a long time, Kecmanović has ceded the second racket position in Serbia to Hamad Međedović. If he continues to achieve good results, he might reclaim that spot in Valencia.
