Juventus Pursues Atalanta's Scalvini

Juventus has initiated preliminary talks with Atalanta regarding the transfer of defender Giorgio Scalvini. The Bianconeri have long had an eye on the young talent and are preparing to make a move this summer, according to "Tuttosport."

The interest from Juventus is driven by their desire to integrate young Italian players into their squad. To participate in European club competitions, Juventus must have at least eight locally developed players in their 25-man list, with at least four being club academy products. Currently, Juventus occupies third place in the Serie A standings but is only one point ahead of fifth place.

Among the players developed in Italy are Mattia Perin, Michele Di Gregorio, Federico Gatti, Manuel Locatelli, and Andrea Cambiaso, while Fabio Mirreti and Carlo Pinsoglio are products of the club's academy. Scalvini would meet these criteria, as would Davide Frattesi from Inter. However, Atalanta has made it clear they will only consider offers for the young defender if they are in the range of 40-45 million euros.

Juventus is also reportedly monitoring Brentford's defender Michael Kodjia, but the former Fiorentina player has stated he is not considering leaving the Premier League club.
