Franck Montédiso is reportedly leaving Juventus after a one-year tenure, with the club planning changes to its football department following another difficult season. According to reports in Italy, the Juventus administration has decided to upgrade the role of technical director, and the French executive is expected to be part of the past.

Short-Term Tenure

Montédiso took on the role of technical director at Juventus last summer, following stints at Olympiacos, Nottingham Forest, and Mönchengladbach. However, his presence in Turin seems to be concluding much sooner than anticipated. The season did not unfold as expected, and the club's leadership is looking to change personnel and balance within the organization.

The core issue for Juventus is that the team has struggled to find stability. The Bianconeri risk missing out on the Champions League, a development that would bring significant financial and competitive pressure heading into next season.

Changes After Disappointing Season

The decision regarding Montédiso suggests that Juventus is not limiting its changes to just the competitive side. The administration is now also looking at the functioning of the football department with the goal of building a different foundation for the next season.

The French executive came to Italy with experience from various environments. At Olympiacos, he was involved with the scouting and transfer departments, in Nottingham Forest he was in an English setting, and in Mönchengladbach he worked within an Italian management model. However, at Juventus, his time appears to be ending before he could leave a lasting impression. If his departure is confirmed, it will be one of the first moves in a broader restructuring the Bianconeri are planning.
