Jon Jones is keen on facing Francis Ngannou in a fight under the Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) banner. Jones, who attended the MVP event "Rousey vs. Carano" in Los Angeles, expressed a desire for the fight but acknowledges the challenge of getting out of his current Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) contract.

Ngannou recently dominated his opponent, Philipe Lins, at the Intuit Dome, ending the bout in the first round with a knockout. The Cameroonian fighter, now free from the UFC, is looking for new opportunities. Jones sees MVP as the only viable platform for the fight to happen, given Dana White's reluctance to bring Ngannou back to the UFC.

Common Ground: UFC Disputes

When Ngannou was the UFC heavyweight champion, Jones repeatedly teased a fight but it never materialized. Ngannou left the UFC in 2023 over a contract dispute and briefly joined the PFL before leaving again. Meanwhile, Jones is currently embroiled in a dispute with the UFC, having retired as the heavyweight champion without fighting interim champion Tom Aspinall. Jones has been pushing for a return but is now asking for release from his UFC contract.

"I’ve got to try to focus on getting out of my UFC contract," Jones said during an interview on the Netflix broadcast. "That’s going to be the difficult part if this fight is going to happen. I don’t think Dana is interested in doing business with Francis. So doing it with MVP is probably going to be the only way to make it happen. If we can get out of my contract, that would be great."
