This year’s Night of Museums event, where museums across Romania open their doors to visitors free of charge, will take place on Saturday, May 23, from 18:00 to 02:00. Over 300 museums from all 39 counties will participate, offering a rich cultural experience. The complete list of participating museums can be found on the official website.

The program includes exhibitions, guided tours, and special activities, catering to a wide range of visitors. The event, now in its 22nd edition, was initiated in 2005 under the Council of Europe and is coordinated by the Network of European Museum Organisations.

Bucharest leads the way with 38 participating institutions. The National Cotroceni Museum will be open from 17:00 to 23:00, offering free access with a valid ID. Visitors can explore the Royal Halls and Medieval Spaces, along with several temporary exhibitions. The National Firefighters Museum – Foișorul de Foc will be open from 17:00 to 23:00, presenting the history of professional rescuers through seven thematic rooms. The National Archives of Romania will open from 20:00 to 02:00, featuring an exhibition on the historical evolution of Wallachia and Moldavia. The Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry will offer guided tours every 30 minutes, showcasing the building's historical and architectural heritage. Reptiland Bucharest will be open from 10:00 to 22:00, offering a discounted entry fee of 30 lei. The National University of Arts Bucharest will host an interactive event from 18:00 to 01:00, featuring guided tours, live artistic demonstrations, and dialogue sessions with students. Casa Universitarilor Bucharest will host the "Night of Designers" exhibition, highlighting sustainable fashion and contemporary art. The Little Paris Museum will be open from 20:00 to 03:00, offering an immersive experience of old Bucharest. Șuțu Palace will be open from 16:30 to 22:00, providing free access to the historical spaces and exhibitions. The Museum of Communist Horrors in Romania will be open from 16:00 to 23:00, offering a documentary and artistic journey into the communist period. The Triumphal Arch will present its permanent exhibition "The Triumphal Arch." The Romanian Athenaeum will host a chamber piano recital by Andrei Licareț starting at 22:00, along with a temporary exhibition in the foyer, with reservations required.

Outside Bucharest, Mureș, Cluj, and Galați counties will have strong participation with 35, 26, and 18 museums respectively. The full list of participating institutions can be found on the official website.
