Filip Hrgović continued his dominance in the heavyweight category! The best Croatian boxer completely demolished British boxer David Allen, celebrating with a technical knockout in the third round of the spectacle held in Doncaster.
The grand boxing event was organized in collaboration between the Queensberry and Matchroom promotions, with the eyes of the boxing world focused on the "Eko Pauer" stadium, where the Croatian boxer and local favorite known as the "White Rhino" faced off.
Even before the match, it was clear that Hrgović was the heavy favorite, but what he showed in the ring exceeded expectations. "El Animal" controlled the fight from the first to the last moment and practically gave his rival no chance.
Allen attempted to start the duel aggressively with a wide right hook, but Hrgović immediately took the initiative and began bombarding the British boxer with a series of powerful punches. The Croatian boxer constantly pressed forward, while Allen mostly retreated to the ropes, trying to survive the onslaught of his rival. By the end of the first round, the British boxer was already heavily damaged under the barrage of punches.
The second round brought a nearly identical picture. Hrgović hit both the head and body with combinations of direct and hook punches, while Allen struggled to find a response to the powerful attacks of the Croatian boxer. The dominance continued into the third round, where the Rio 2nd bronze medalist literally "taught" the British boxer a lesson in the ring. Combinations of "1-2" and hook punches hit both the head and body, and at one point, Allen completely stopped defending himself.
Allen's corner then reacted and threw in the towel, preventing more serious consequences for the British boxer.
This was Hrgović's 20th win in his professional career, with 15 knockouts, while his only loss remains the one to Danish boxer Daniel Duboe in June 2024. On the other hand, David Allen recorded his ninth loss in his professional career.
Hrgović continued his fantastic streak against British boxers, having previously defeated Joe Joyce and David Adeleye. Now, more and more talk is revolving around Hrgović's next big challenge, with information from British media suggesting that his next opponent could be undefeated Mozes Itauma, one of the greatest talents in world boxing. The young British boxer with a record of 14-0 and 12 knockouts is set to headline a show at the London O2 Arena on August 8.
Hrgović is on fire! Can he keep this momentum up and take on the undefeated Itauma? The clash of these two titans would be a dream match!
