The South Korean national team has announced its squad for the World Cup (11 June - 19 July), with star player Heung-min Son, who now plays for Los Angeles FC, leading the charge. Also included in the 26-man squad are Kim-min Jae (Bayern Munich) and Kang-in Lee (Paris Saint-Germain).
In Group A, alongside Mexico, South Africa, and Czech Republic, South Korea will rely on the experience of their captain, Heung-min Son, who will participate in his fourth World Cup at the age of 33 (previous appearances in 2014, 2018, and 2022).
Number 7 will be supported by two other key players: Kim-min Jae (Bayern Munich) and Kang-in Lee (Paris Saint-Germain).
The team will also welcome Jens Castrop (Borussia Mönchengladbach, 5 caps), who was born to a South Korean mother and German father in Düsseldorf, making him the first player to represent South Korea in the World Cup without having been born in the country. Before the tournament, the team has two friendly matches scheduled against Trinidad and Tobago and El Salvador.
Heung-min Son's fourth World Cup is a testament to his enduring talent and leadership. Will he lead South Korea to their first-ever World Cup title, or will it be another heartbreak? Let's find out!
