Greek Culture Minister Lina Mendoni visited Serbia to sign three major bilateral agreements aimed at strengthening cultural cooperation, preserving heritage, and expanding collaboration in museums, film, and the arts. The agreements were signed with Serbian Culture Minister Nikola Selaković during Mendoni's official visit to Belgrade.

During her visit, Mendoni met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić at the Presidential Palace in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Mendoni conveyed a message of friendship and cooperation on behalf of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Vučić noted the close and productive relationship between the two leaders, referencing the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed in 2019.

Vučić thanked Greece for its continued care of Serbian holy sites in Greece and expressed gratitude for the Greek Ministry of Culture's contribution to the exhibition marking the 850th anniversary of the birth of Saint Sava. He also reaffirmed Serbia’s strong support for Greece’s campaign to reunite the Parthenon Marbles and thanked Greece for supporting the inscription of Serbian monuments on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The two ministers agreed to organize a regular Cultural Forum starting in September 2026 in Thessaloniki. The forum will bring together leaders of major cultural institutions from both countries and facilitate the signing of cooperation memoranda between counterpart organizations. The forum will coincide with an exhibition at the Museum of Byzantine Culture dedicated to Serbian medieval monasteries listed by UNESCO as endangered World Heritage sites.

Mendoni and Selaković also signed an agreement on combating the illegal trafficking of cultural artifacts during their visit.
