Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, in collaboration with the Turkish Tourism, Promotion, and Development Agency, has launched a significant initiative to enhance the city's tourism through an AI-supported app named "Visit Gaziantep." The app was unveiled on May 15, 2026, at the Panorama 25 December Museum, with the attendance of Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nadir Alparslan, Gaziantep Governor Kemal Çeber, Gaziantep Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Şahin, and AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Abdulhamit Gül.

The "Visit Gaziantep" app consolidates all information about the city's gastronomy, geographical landmarks, travel destinations, and historical sites into a single platform. Users can access a wide range of details, from the history of the Gypsy Girl mosaic to the recipe for Yuvalama soup, a traditional Gaziantep dish. The app also offers 24/7 AI-assisted guidance to help visitors tailor their travel routes. It supports nine languages, enhancing the accessibility for international tourists.

Gaziantep Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Şahin emphasized the city's unique character and its transition into a smart tourism destination. "We needed a professional promotional network, and we need to evolve into a smart city with smart tourism. Gaziantep is a distinctive experience model, and we aim to convert our values into smart tourism. We have restored five ancient cities and expanded our museums from 22 to 26. This app is a step towards making Gaziantep a global brand," Şahin stated.

Deputy Minister Alparslan highlighted the app’s role in promoting diverse tourism across Turkey. "Gaziantep has set a beautiful example with this initiative. We need to diversify and promote the tourism of our 81 provinces to the world. This app is a successful step towards that goal," he said.

The mayor also expressed confidence in Gaziantep's tourism potential, aiming to achieve at least two Michelin stars this year and welcoming more tourists to the region.
