Silent and composed, Kaan "Cool" Ayhan is a name known by all in Kemerburgaz. For years, his name has been associated with Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, and Trabzonspor. Each summer and winter transfer window brought headlines about Kaan signing a new deal. However, the most significant signature of his career was with Galatasaray, where he won four consecutive titles and became the captain. His critical goals each season and the "Cool" celebrations have made him a highly sought-after footballer. Captain Kaan Ayhan, who has won four championships in a row for the Yellow-Reds, answered our questions after the championship, avoiding polemics:

‘I RAN A LOT, SO I DIDN'T CELEBRATE MUCH’

- You have a remarkable goal every season. This time, you scored the championship-winning goal, yet your celebration was subdued...

I scored a meaningful goal. It was great for me to score in a match where I played in different roles. I didn't have a big plan for the goal celebration. Forwards typically do that. In that moment, I remembered last year's celebration, which people enjoyed. I decided to do something similar. I even joked that I was too tired from running to celebrate after the goal, channeling last year's emotions. It was a goal celebration I did not think about much.

‘I'M A TYPE THAT FITS THESE ROLES’

- You are experienced, don't mind being a substitute, perform well in any position when called upon, and play even when injured, all while being the captain... How do you feel carrying all these responsibilities?

A very good question. I find it hard to give a definitive answer off the cuff. Looking back at my career, I naturally fit into these positions. I was always a captain in the youth teams, and I always had a responsibility placed upon me. I adapted to this at a young age. Every club I joined gave me the same roles. I fit well into this position based on my character. Of course, reaching these positions at Galatasaray within 2-3 years was a separate joy and pride for me. I am very happy.

‘THEY PUT ME ON A PLANE AND BROUGHT ME HERE’

- Did you think that your chemistry with the team would be this strong or that you would win consecutive titles when you joined Galatasaray?

No... My arrival was quite sudden. In fact, there were discussions with other clubs. At that time, Erden Timur was part of the management process with President Dursun Özbek. They put me on a plane and brought me here in a 2-3-day operation. So, there was no time to think much. I knew I was joining a team aiming for the championship. We always play for the championship every year. The four consecutive titles were a great success, but not a surprise. We need to take the four steps to reach five consecutive championships. Now, our goal is to win five consecutive titles. I hope we can achieve that.

‘I DIDN'T THINK ABOUT LEAVING’

- Your contract is ongoing, but there are claims in the European press that you will leave. Is this true?

I am in the middle of the season. We have a World Cup process ahead. It's difficult to answer such a question. Transfer matters are part of football, but I haven't given this much thought. Nobody has spoken to me about it. If the opposite were true, there would have been an official statement or meeting by now. Before coming here, headlines about Kaan Ayhan signing with Galatasaray appeared even when nothing was happening. For a while now, there have been no Kaan Ayhan news, which is normal. Unfortunately, in this country, the...
