Marco Bezzecchi concluded the sprint race in Barcelona in ninth place, earning just one point from the event. However, the Italian managed to extend his lead at the top of the MotoGP standings before the Catalunya Grand Prix the next day. Bezzecchi currently leads the championship with 129 points, two points ahead of Aprilia's Jorge Martin, who did not finish the sprint race at Catalunya. There was a change in third place as well, with Pedro Acosta securing the second position, overtaking Fabio Di Giannantonio, who finished third. The sprint race winner in Barcelona, Alex Marquez, is now in seventh place in the overall standings with 67 points.
