The top five teams in the Süper Lig have secured their spots in European football for the 2026-2027 season, as announced by the Turkish Football Federation.
Galatasaray, who finished as the Süper Lig champions, will compete in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Fenerbahçe, who finished in second place, will enter the Champions League at the second qualifying round.
Trabzonspor's Two Scenarios
Trabzonspor, who finished third in the Süper Lig, has qualified for the UEFA Europa League. If they win the Turkish Cup, they will compete in the Europa League play-off stage. If they do not win the Cup, they will start their campaign in the second qualifying round of the Europa League.
Beşiktaş's Two Scenarios
If Trabzonspor wins the Turkish Cup, Beşiktaş will compete in the second qualifying round of the Europa League. If Konyaspor wins the Cup, Beşiktaş will compete in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League. If Trabzonspor wins the Cup, Başakşehir will compete in the second qualifying round of the Conference League. If Konyaspor wins the Cup, Başakşehir will miss out on European competition.
This is huge for Turkish football! The top teams are getting the recognition they deserve. But what about the smaller clubs? They need a chance too. How can we make sure they get a fair shot at European glory?
