While the controversy surrounding Dubai's participation in the ABA League and the dispute over the home court in the semifinals continues, the Emirati club is reportedly preparing moves that could cause further ripples in the region.

According to reports, Dubai's management and sports director Dejan Kamenjašević are not only focusing on the current season but are also developing a long-term strategy to expand their influence through a partnership with one of the clubs from the former Yugoslavia region.

The plan involves Dubai entering into a partnership with a regional club that would serve as a base for the development of young players, following the models of Partizan with Metalec, Mega with OKK Beograd, and Crvena zvezda with BKK Radnički.

Initial plans suggested that the partnership would be established in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but Vojvodina has now entered the race, potentially becoming the new base for the ambitious Emirati project. Vojvodina could receive significant financial support and a higher competitive level, making it more competitive in the domestic league and the Second ABA League. It is reported that three meetings have already taken place between representatives of both sides.

Dubai aims to have its own representatives in the partner club's system to ensure the agreement is fully implemented and in line with the joint development strategy.

However, all eyes remain on the court for now. Dubai is set to face Budućnost on May 20 in the first semifinal match of the ABA League, with the home court issue still unresolved. The club's future in regional competition remains uncertain, as they have previously hinted at the possibility of withdrawing if the dispute is not resolved.
