Di Giannantonio Wins Second MotoGP in Barcelona

Italian rider Fabio Di Giannantonio secured his second MotoGP victory of the season in Barcelona, marking his first win since 2023 and the first for VR46 this season. The victory came as a result of an intense and dangerous race marred by several incidents.

“It was a crazy week,” explained Di Giannantonio, who sustained an injury to his left hand after an incident between Acosta and Marquez in the 12th lap. “I am happy with the victory, with our representation, our team did a great job to allow me to push and achieve this result.”

Di Giannantonio also expressed concern for Johann Zarco and Alex Marquez, who were injured in the crash. “The biggest victory today is that we all managed to escape relatively unharmed. I know that Zarco and Alex are injured, but I understand they are doing well. I am doing well too,” he added.

“This is a great sport, but there are dangers, we are aware of that. We are all humans, and today was like a horror show. I saw parts of a motorcycle and the engine flying towards me, and I just tried to hide and get out of that situation. But something hit my left hand, and I barely managed to lift the trophy on the podium.”

The Catalan GP was marked by a series of incidents, including the crash involving Zarco and Marquez, which left both riders injured and in the hospital in Barcelona.
