Croatian MMA fighter Ivana Petrović secured an impressive victory at OKTAGON 88 in Hanover, where she dominated and defeated the Swiss opponent Danijel Misteli with a technical knockout in the first round. The former UFC fighter demonstrated that she is in peak form and returned to the winning side in a spectacular fashion.

The bout in the bantamweight category was the fourth on the evening's program. From the very beginning, Ivana Petrović exhibited great determination. The Croatian representative immediately took control of the center of the octagon and set the pace using excellent boxing combinations, particularly recognizable "1-2" punch series, which constantly pressured her opponent.

Misteli attempted to counter with "calf kicks," but one such attempt proved costly for the experienced 49-year-old Swiss fighter. Petrović reacted brilliantly, knocked Misteli to the floor, and then completely took control of the fight.

A true dominance of the Croatian fighter ensued on the ground. Petrović, from a superior position, rained down powerful punches and elbows on Misteli, causing significant damage. After about two minutes into the fight, she managed to take Misteli's back and continued with brutal head strikes to break the Swiss fighter's resistance.

Although Misteli attempted to find a way out of the extremely difficult situation, Ivana Petrović did not leave much room for her. The damage on Misteli's face was visible, while Petrović continued to increase the tempo. About a minute before the end of the first round, the Croatian fighter reached a full mount position, from which she delivered a devastating "ground and pound" that forced the referee to stop the fight and prevent further serious consequences for Misteli.

Following the big win, Petrović did not hide her emotions.

"- I have lost a few matches, but I did not let that define me. I know who I am, I am a champion, and I will prove it," said the 31-year-old from Mostar, who resides in Norway.

This was the eighth victory in Ivana Petrović's professional career, now standing at eight wins and four losses. Many believe that this dominant victory in Hanover could mark the beginning of a new successful chapter for one of the best MMA fighters from the Balkan region, who continues to have much to prove on the biggest European and global stages.
