The Corvinul Hunedoara team has clinched the title in the Romanian Second Division, marking a triumphant return to the SuperLigă for the city after a 34-year absence. This is the club's third season in the second tier, but the first with promotion eligibility following recent legal changes. Despite not winning their final match on the old Hunedoara stadium, the team filled the venue with joy.

Since the Football Federation of Romania (FRF) began awarding the Second Division trophy in 2018, Corvinul is the ninth team to take home the title. Under the leadership of coach Florin Maxim, the team finished second in the previous 2023/24 season, their first after moving up from the Third Division. Their second-place finish this year solidifies their promotion to the top tier of Romanian football.
