Claire Emslie has been recalled by Scotland for their final Women's World Cup qualifying double-header against Israel, five months on from giving birth.

The Angel City forward welcomed her first child, Jamie, in December and returned to her club on 10 May, which coincided with Mother's Day in the United States. This was her first club appearance since May 2025 and her most recent Scotland appearance was in April of last year, when the team suffered a 6-1 loss in Germany.

The matches will be played behind closed doors in Hungary at Budapest's Bozsik Arena. The Scottish FA has not provided a clear reason for playing the 'home' game outside of Scotland, stating only that the decision aligns with other teams in Group B4.

In addition to Emslie, AC Milan captain Christy Grimshaw, who was sidelined for 13 months due to ACL and MCL injuries, receives a first call-up from current head coach Melissa Andreatta. Un capped defender Kenzie Weir is the third and final change, replacing injured players Charlotte Newsham, Maria McAneny, and Rangers teenager Mia McAulay.

Scotland, who lead Group B4 on goal difference and have secured their place in the play-offs later this year, will face Israel on Friday, 5 June at 17:00 BST, followed by their final group game on Tuesday, 9 June at 18:00.
