Marin Čilić's charitable tennis tournament, 'Gem Set Hrvatska,' will be held on July 12 in Karlovac. Despite the tournament coinciding with the Wimbledon finals, several notable Croatian athletes, including Valent Sinković, Matea Jelić, and Borna Ćorić, have confirmed their participation. However, Luka Modrić will not be attending due to his World Cup commitments, and Čilić himself may miss the event if he competes in the Wimbledon finals.

- Interestingly, or perhaps not, this date coincides with the Wimbledon finals, noted the renowned sports journalist Mirna Zidarić, to the amusement of all present.

- Well, then we'll just move the charity tournament to the next day, haha! - Čilić joked at the press conference, expressing gratitude to everyone who had supported the foundation over the past decade.

The event, organized by the Marin Čilić Foundation for the past ten years, will bring together celebrated Croatian athletes to promote sports among young people and raise funds for building sports facilities. Čilić emphasized the mission of providing opportunities for young people and showing them that dreams are achievable with hard work and support.

Borna Ćorić, recovering from a shoulder injury and surgery, shared his plans for returning to the tennis court. Despite a challenging rehabilitation, he hopes to play in some tournaments by the end of the year and fully return to competitive play in the upcoming season. He expressed optimism about his potential performance at the charity tournament.

Filip Glavaš, a member of the Croatian national handball team, will also participate despite being more comfortable with a ball than a tennis racket. He highlighted the significance of the event in bringing together prominent Croatian athletes to inspire young people.

The legendary Olympic athlete Valent Sinković added humor to the event, sharing his determination to win at the tournament and his unique pre-tournament preparation strategy. Mayor Damir Mandić expressed pride in Karlovac hosting the event, emphasizing the city's commitment to children and sports.
